Optimize the supply chain and implement transparent tracking via electronic interfaces to SAP Business One

In order to be successful as a wholesaler or fulfillment service provider, fast and smooth processing of customer orders is a top priority. Companies who want to works with large chain stores must also meet special requirements. It is often necessary to transfer orders, delivery notes and invoices via electronic interfaces.

Recently, a renowned South German fulfillment service provider for garden furniture faced this challenge. On the road to successful digitization, the IT specialists at PART Business Solution supported operations and implemented the company software SAP Business One with a fully automatic EDI interface.

The PART programming team developed innovative interfaces based on the multi-functional integration solution SAP Business One Integration Framework (B1i) for automatic and smooth communication via digital EDI messages between the individual business and logistics partners. With these individual software extensions, message types such as ORDERS, DESADV and INVOICE can now be digitally transferred and easily integrated into the workflow. Special requirements, such as OSTRPT and ORDCHG from the Bauhaus department stores are also met, making order processing easier, avoiding sources of error and ensuring fast order processing.

The system uses a special interface to map the orders for the retail chain LIDL and can also digitize non-EDI-compliant customer orders. In addition, various important information on shipping processing is also transferred directly to internationally active logistics service providers. After shipping has been completed, the system automatically reports supply chain-relevant data, such as tracking numbers, back to the wholesaler's SAP Business One system and makes tracking and tracing transparent for everyone.

With the integration of these individual EDI interfaces, the renowned Bavarian-Swabian distributor of garden furniture is optimally prepared for the digital future Industry 4.0 and further growth.
